Two from L'oreal

I only buy a new product if I run out of it and the packaging is completely empty. Ok, that's a lie. I only buy it when it's half empty(!). Or if I am brave enough to convince myself that I really need it. And the way to do this is simple: I will not order food for lunch, I will simply eat a toast with cheese and tomato and will not drink my beloved €5 coffee from Starbucks! €15 saved! Cause having a good BB cream or another eye makeup remover is more essential than a cup of freshly brewed Starbucks! Am I right?

L'oreal Paris Skin Perfection BB Cream 5 in 1
I love BB creams; I like to wear a light foundation for every day at the office. So I've used lots of them and emptied lots of tubes! (see?).

This one provides a light-medium coverage and it has a soft and creamy texture. It blends nicely and gives a little bit of glow to the skin. If you like more coverage for your skin, this cream is probably not for you, since it is a little sheer when applied and does not cover marks, spots, acne etc. You cannot compare it with a foundation but it is a good lighter option for days you don't want to bother with full face makeup.

I like it a lot as it evens my skin tone and creates a perfect base for a light everyday makeup. I also use a concealer (I use a concealer even if I am not wearing foundation, BB or CC cream cause I want my under eye area covered 24/7 to cover any imperfections under my eyes). This is the first time I am using this BB cream and I like it so far.

L'oreal Paris Ideal Soft Makeup Remover
for Sensitive Eyes
Micellar waters are so popular at the moment and they are so good in removing our makeup. This product is like a gel, but a watery gel, it's not thick as it seems from looking at it from the bottle. I avoid scrubbing my eyes when removing eye makeup, and I like to put the cotton pad and leave it there for a few seconds in order to absorb the product and remove the makeup without rubbing it.

My eyeliner, eyeshadows and mascara dissolve within seconds and voila! A clean eye area! I cannot tell if it works brilliantly with removing waterproof mascara as I do not use one, but it does an excellent job in removing everything else!

However, there is one thing that I don't like about this product, a problem that I had also with the L'oreal Micellar water. The hole in the bottle is huge and you have to be careful when pouring the product on the cotton pad, cause you might spill a great quantity.

As I mentioned in my review of the L'oreal Micellar Water, when I first opened the bottle, I spilled a large quantity in my vanity. And this is the case with the eye makeup remover. Same packaging, same problems! Why a good product comes with an awful packaging? What is the point of having a huuuuuge hole in a watery product? Anyways, this is the only disadvantage and overall I like this one a lot.

When applied, this one gives you a cooling sensation and the eyes feel refreshed. It's a product suitable for sensitive eyes and for those who wear contact lenses. This does not cause any irritation like the one I used from the Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. This one hurt my eyes so bad, as soon as I put it, my eyes hurt and they started to water like crazy. It was hell! The L'oreal gel is so gentle to my eyes and I believe that it also hydrates the eye area.

So these are two new products I am using at the moment! I hope you are having a great week and I will see you soon! xx

  2. Great review, I prefer quite a medium coverage so I think I will pass on the BB cream, but the makeup remover sounds great. My eyes have been feeling sensitive lately, thanks for sharing xxx

  4. I should really try more makeup from L'Oreal but it seems I'm only drawn to the mascaras and not much else. The BB cream sounds lovely, I'll need to check how much it's retailing here.

  7. I don't actually use BB creams at all and never have done...but I think I might let me skin breath a little this summer and invest in once! No one like slapping on heavy duty make up on holiday...!

  15. ooooo very curious about this product. first time i've heard l'oreal have their own miscellar water. i've been looking for a new one since i'm planning to get eyelash extensions and i won't be able to use my normal oil cleanser so water based makeup removers are best. might have to give this a try!

  19. Oh my gosh I agree with you entirely, girl! I've been known to basically live on baked beans and toast just so I could save up more money for makeup... I know it's a little extreme but I'd rather buy new goodies than go out or spend too much on food... Or is that ridiculous, lol. Anyways, loving your reviews as always & that micellar water sounds great, but the packaging would annoy me also! I like practical packagings and this one seems a little flawed to say the least, haha. Also, I love BB creams but haven't tried that particular one, my fav is the oil-free one by Garnier. :) <3 Thanks for sharing! Kisses. x

  20. I would totally choose beauty products over coffee, as well! ;)
I love a lighter base, too, but I find that most BB creams don't suit my oily skin. I need something more mattifying.

  22. The makeup remover sounds so nice and similar to a makeup remover Maybelline used to make about a year ago or so. It was a gel remover and it was awesome for eye makeup...I loved it, but they discontinued it. Don't you just hate when companies do that? Anyway, I totally understand where you are coming from about the skipping Starbucks and such, I do the same thing sometimes. LOL!
