When you live on an island that has eight months of sunny weather and hot temperatures, sunscreen is a must product to use and honestly, I don't neglect applying my cream every day for the last couple of years.
Sun exposure without any protection is harmful and can cause discoloration, wrinkles, spots and inevitably skin cancer, which is the most common of cancers. Sunscreen must be used every day, even in winter. It should be re-applied every two hours and if you are at the beach, you must re-apply it immediately after swimming.

Last year, I was using the Avene Eau Thermale SPF50+ and it was a really good product that got me covered throughout summer and the whole year. This year, I purchased the Loreal Sublime Sun Bronzage Ideal SPF30.
This sunscreen is light, applies beautifully on the skin and is non-greasy, perfect for my combination-oily skin. The only thing I don't like about this, are the tiny glitters that are noticeable as soon as you apply the cream but they disappear after a while (if fact these are micro pearls that are responsible to distribute an even tan and give a nice glow on the face, but I don't like how they make my face glittery for five seconds).
This cream gives a nice healthy golden glow to the skin, and when I visited my mum last week she asked me: ''did you go to the beach? You have a nice tan and your face is glowing...no mum, it's my sunscreen!''

When out of the tube, the product looks quite heavy and rich but when applied on the skin, it is fully absorbed and does not leave any white marks. The formula of this cream is enriched with argan oil that nourishes the skin and prevents it from dehydrating from the exposure to the sun.
Another advantage is the fact that this does not sting my eyes. I always had a problem with every single sunscreen that I used in the past, as I always managed to get the cream somehow in my eyes and it hurt so much. But thankfully, this is not the case with this one, or at least as many times that I used this one, it didn't hurt my eyes.
This product is water resistant, protects against UVA and UVB and acts against burn and ageing.
What is your favourite sunscreen and do you use one throughout the year?
I certainly know what you mean! I live on an island also, so sunblock year round is a must. I really like that this formula doesn't sting the eyes and that it absorbs quickly with no streaking.

Sounds like a lovely sunscreen. Always tricky to find a good one for the face. Could have done without the glitters though.

Love that it's not painful around the eyes. I hate that ☺

I must admit I do not apply sunscreen like I should. We only have 3-4 months of really warm weather so I only use it sparingly during those times. Maybe I should try this since it is a light formulation.

love that it doesn't sting the eyes!! it sounds great.
ReplyDeleteWhile I desperately jealous that you get so much sun, you are so right about the importance of sun protection. This is definitely a great product for us all to be taking along with us to the beach and it ticks all the right boxes!

It's like you read my mind, I'm running low on my current sunscreen and been wondering which to get. I like that this has a wee bit glitter in it and gives you an even tan. I'll need to look for it here.

Wow! This sounds really nice!! One of my favourite sunscreens is the Snowberry Active Outdoor Sunscreen. It absorbs rapidly and doesn't leave any white residue behind, it's really nice!
ReplyDeleteI love all your photos by the way!
