Morning Skin Care Routine ♥Spring

My skincare routine changes from season to season.  Although I have combination to oily skin, I sometimes feel it very dry, especially in the winter, so I like to use a rich cream to give extra moisture to my face.
For spring and summer, I prefer lighter options. I am in my mid-thirties now, and my skincare routine evolves year by year.  As we get older, our skin needs extra attention and care and before I hit thirty, I didn't even think about using anti-ageing products but now I use lots of them to fight any wrinkles or fine lines.
So let's see the steps:

1. I always, always wash my face in the morning.  Before I did that, I thought that because at night I washed my face, toned and moisturised it, it would be clean in the morning, but I was wrong.  While we sleep, oils gather around our face and we might get dirt from our pillow, our hair, our mattress etc.  So now I wash my face using a gentle wash gel to remove any residues and I usually prefer to rinse with cold water, as it wakes my skin up (and me!). I am currently using the Declare Cleansing Gel, a mild gel that removes even waterproof makeup and the Clean & Clear Morning Energy Daily Facial Scrub.

2. Then, I use a light toner to balance my skin after wash, but if I don't have time and I am in a hurry, I skip this part.  Toning is essential as it replenishes the surface of the skin immediately after washing.  I use Nivea Pure & Natural Cleansing Toner, Jason Super-C Toner (here) and Rose of Bulgaria Natural Rose Water.

3.  I use a serum to give my skin extra hydration and then I use a BB Cream to get a light coverage. The serum I am currently using is the Loreal Skin Perfection Serum.

I prefer using a BB Cream in the morning instead of foundation, because a foundation is sometimes heavy for my face and my skin gets super oily during the day, so I prefer going with a lighter option.  Also, a BB Cream will provide moisture to my face, SPF, anti-ageing ingredients and a light coverage.  Now, I am using the Garnier BB Cream in light shade or the Garnier Miracle Skin Cream (here) that also gives some coverage to the face without overdoing it.

4. After using my BB Cream I usually do a light makeup for the day.  I use a liquid eyeliner or a soft pencil liner, a volumizing mascara to define my lashes and now in spring I love using a soft pink lipstick. I also like to use a pink blush on my cheeks and maybe some highlighter.

What is your morning skin care routine?

  4. This is a great morning skincare routine and mine is pretty similar. Now that the weather has warmer up a little, my routine is much simpler too but I still need to wear moisturizer due to my dry and mature skin. Also I use milk cleanser in the morning because it's very gentle. :-)

  5. Really enjoyed reading about your morning routine, hun! You take great care of your skin and it pays off! Like yourself, I never used to cleanse in the morning... I thought cleansing before sleep was enough, oh boy was I wrong! Ever since I started cleansing my face properly every morning, my skin's really improved. x x Also, I love the Garnier BB cream! <3 It's perfect for oily skin. x

  11. The only products I've used is the Garnier BB cream which I love. The Declare Cleansing Gel sounds really interesting too. I've just started to use Estelle and Thild anti aging products.

  14. I loved your post! I also change my routine from season to season. Cleaning and balancing your skin in the morning before moisturizing is a must! And I add a facial sun protector cream when the weather is sunny. Don't wait untill Summer to do that. Even Sping sun can damage your skin. I also love BB creams, because I don't like to use makeup foundation every day. As for my everyday makeup routine, it's similar to yours. I prefer to use an eye pencil most of the times, instead of an eyeliner and I apply a soft peach eyeshadow, in order to highlight my eyes. :)
