L.A. Girl Matte Velvet Lipsticks

As you may have noticed by know, I have been purchasing lots of lip products lately. I have been on a spending ban last month and now, I cannot help it, there are so many products I want to add to my collection and try. Mostly skincare products and lipsticks.

I discovered the L.A. Girl brand two years ago and I ordered a couple of lipsticks to try.  L.A. Girl is an affordable brand and this time I purchased three of their matte velvet lipsticks.  I love lipsticks in general and I have plenty, but I find it so difficult to find all brands here. I love ordering online but nothing beats the feeling of entering a beauty store and swatching like 63485 lipsticks at the back of your hand in order to decide which one to buy.

I ordered these from Beauty Joint and I purchased Snuggle, Hush and Relentless.  The packaging is a simple black tube, longer than the usual lipstick tube and slimmer.  It also features the shade on the top of the lid, making it easier to find the shade you are looking for between the hundreds of lipstick that you probably have in your dresser.  So let's see how these perform and their swatches.

These lipsticks are highly pigmented and very creamy. They do not feel dry at all, more hydrating I would say and feel really comfortable on the lips. Application is easy, Relentless could do with two layers only, Hush and Snuggle need three to four layers in order to built up. They are vanilla scented but the scent is not strong and not overpowering at all, for those who don't like vanilla scented products.     

Snuggle - this is a rose/brown/nude shade.

Hush - a pinky/nude shade. I believe that this shade would look good on every skin tone. I love shades like this, I find them easier to grab them and use them on a daily basis and this shade is perfect for everyday use.

Relentless - a lovely red shade, the most pigmented from all three shades.

The only problem I have with these lipsticks, is the fact that when they arrived, they were melted. You can see in the picture below that the shape of the lipstick is weird, it melted then reshaped again into a weird shape.  I don't know if it's the high temperature and the hot weather we are experiencing now or the long trip these lipsticks traveled in order to be here, but I was so disappointed when they arrived like this. Luckily, this hasn't affected their performance. 

Overall I really like these lipsticks.  They come in 26 lovely shades, they are so rich and creamy and even though they are not longlasting, they stay on like a good 4 hours.
