NYX Round Lipstick - Thalia


I have been adding more nude and earth toned shades in my collection recently and it is so strange for me, cause I love my pinks. I wouldn't think of wearing a nude lipstick a couple of years back, the thought of a nude lip made me so scared. But with the correct makeup, any nude looks good.  Especially with a lovely smokey eye. 

The influence from Kylie Jenner's gorgeous nude lips is huge at the moment. Everyone is talking about her lips and the lip kits that she released, however, not all reviews on her products are nice and people are very disappointed. But her lips, omg, her lips look amazing. We all want nice and defined lips and nude shades give us this desired effect, fuller looking and more defined lips.

I've been wanting to purchase the NYX Round Lipstick in Thalia after reading all about it in a blog and seeing the lovely lip swatches the girl has provided.  Thalia is not a nude, but a muted mauve shade and it is probably the softest and creamiest lipstick I have ever tried. It is extremely moisturising on the lips (a great alternative after using all my matte/dry liquid lipsticks).  

 While reading reviews on this one before ordering it, I read that depending on your skin tone, this may appear as a pink/purple shade, which is really awkward cause it comes as a muted mauve shade out of the tube.  This is your 'put a lipstick and go to the supermarket cause we run out of milk' kind of lipstick.  It applies really nice on the lips, no mirror required.


Thalia is not longlasting; but stays on the lips for a good 2-3 hours on, which is fine by me and you definitely need to re-apply after having a meal or drink something. Pigmentation is medium so you have to apply it several times on your lips to get the proper shade out.

The packaging of this is nothing special.  Just a black plastic tube that holds the lipstick inside and a clear lid that shows the actual colour of the lipstick.


This lipstick is so similar to the Essence 03 Come Naturally, this one is far more pigmented than the Essence one but they look alike. Next on my list from the NYX Round Lipsticks will be definitely Tea Rose.

    I bought many NYX lippies just the other day and very happy with them. The nude lip trend is so up my street since the shade is very natural (= everyday appropriate) and looks amazing. Also, I am including a lippy into my upcoming massive giveaway dedicated to my baby blog's birthday :)
    As for the longevity, just like you, I am absolutely ok with the fact that it doesn't wear for too long. Couldn't expect crazy long wear for that price but still, so many shades look sooo good! Fab review, girlie!

    This is a really nice shade. I am also trying to wear more neutrals, as weird as it may seem, neutrals, nudes and pinks are outside of my comfort zone and I'm trying to use them more just for fun. I know when you say it is not so long lasting and that is is really moisturizing, I used to have one super bright shade and it moved around as hell, but now that I think of it, that formula is good and there should not be that much problem with a nude, I'll check it the next time I go to my Nyx store :)

    I can't believe you got this! I remember Thalia being the perfect dupe for a Mac lipstick, can't remember which now. I was looking for it here but none of my local drugstores have it.

    I wasn't really into nude colours but after finding a few good colours then I am more into it! Thalia is a beautiful colour, 2-3 hours lasting is still good. I keep refreshing my lipstick all the time anyway so it wouldn't be a problem :)
