Are you using your sunscreen the right way?

Probably the most important skincare product to use, not only in summer but in winter too. I wish I learned to use sunscreen when I was younger and before I made some serious damage to my skin. I remember 23 years old Yiota, sunbathing with her friends and not using any sun protection, only tanning oil, how stupid I was?

After I hit 30, I started taking care of my skin and I started using eye cream, serums and suncreen religiously. The difference is huge, my skin looks and feels better now that I am 30+ and I am proud of the work done and hours dedicated to read, search about products and ingredients that gave me the results I have now.

But are we using suncreen correctly? Here are some tips to follow and make sure we are protected:

♥Use your suncreen on days when it's cloudy or rainy, not only in summer when the sun is shining. And another important thing is to use one when you are inside the house or office, the sun rays can reach us even in the comfort of our home. In other words, use it 365 days a year!

♥ It is best to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before being outside in the sun.

♥ If you are using a BB cream or foundation with spf in it, you still need to use an SPF30 or higher.

♥ A common mistake when you are having a lovely time at the beach, is when you sit under the umbrella and you think that you are protected. You are not!

♥ Darker skins are also vulnerable but less sensitive than lighter skins. So everyone should use a sunscreen regardless skin color.

♥ Apply your sunscreen not only on your face but on hands, body, lips, everywhere.

♥ Always reapply after 2-3 hours and immediately after your swimming session.
