I didn't always have great skin. I suffered from acne in my twenties and my oily-combination face needs high maintenance in order to look the way it does.
Now, in my mid-thirdies, I am proud to say that my skin is in it's best condition than ever but it takes a lot of work and effort, and of course, many products.
1) Always remove makeup before going to sleep. ALWAYS!
2) Drink lots of water during the day to hydrate your body
3) Drink warm water with lemon first thing in the morning to detox your body and clean your skin
4) Always apply the eye cream first and then apply your moisturiser
5) If you are out of makeup remover, try coconut or olive oil, it works miracles in removing makeup
6) Exfoliate your lips using a toothbrush before applying your lipstick
7) Use your old mascara wand for your brows
8) Don't pump your mascara; you push air into the tube making it dry faster
9) Use aloe vera to soothe burning, it is the best remedy for burned skin
10) Change your pillow sheet every two days; oils from your hair get absorbed into it and they transfer to your face causing acne
11) Use sunscreen every day, even in winter
12) Wash your brushes once a week to prevent bacteria from 'entering' your face
13) Sleep at least 8 hours; your skin is rejuvenated during the night and you wake up feeling fresh and relaxed
14) Your neck needs attention as much as your face; apply your day cream down your neck and chest
15) Stop touching your face and picking on pimples, you are not helping your skin.
