Why use a face mask

Face masks are not a luxury for our skin but a necessity.  A face mask will give you all the nutritional supplements your face needs to overcome all the bad conditions we have to deal every day.
Stress, pollution, unhealthy diet and lack of exercise, all these things tend to age our skin.  A face mask will save the skin giving it a nice glow and freshness to look and feel healthier.

How to choose a face mask: First, you have to define your skin type.  Mine is combination to oily but is strong enough to allow me to try any mask I want.  I suffered from acne at the age of twenty, but now in my mid-thirties, my skin is better than ever.  I am a face mask junkie, I have tried tons of masks and I have plenty more to try!

Oily skin: I like using masks with clay because clay has the ability to deep cleanse our pores and remove anything that our skin attracts during the day.

Dry skin: If you have dry skin, choose a hydrating mask that will provide extra hydration and reduce the pulling sensation. Also, an overnight mask would be a good idea; they are so popular at the moment, and although I haven't tried an overnight mask yet, I know that they do an amazing job to the skin while you sleep.

Troubled skin: choose a mask with antioxidants to clean the face but be careful of the ingredients because you don't want to irritate it.

I usually do a face mask 2-3 times per week.  I apply the mask and I leave it on for 10-15 minutes, but sometimes I leave it longer as I want the ''good stuff '' to enter my skin and the mask to be fully absorbed.  I relax and when I remove it, my face feels incredible, more fresh and youthful.

Do you use face masks? If yes, how often and what kind of masks?
