Have a beautiful face

In order to have a beautiful face, we must take care of it constantly. I use lots of products to maintain my skin; scrubs, face masks, serums, anti-ageing creams, oils, moisturising creams, eye creams, eye serums... the list is endless. But keeping our face clean must be the number one in our list in order to have a fresh and flawless skin.

Cleaning our face properly: I wash my face twice a day; in the morning, to remove substances gathered during the night (it is important not to apply the day cream without cleansing, because the cream will not be absorbed and will join the pollutants that exist in our pores and may cause contamination) and in the evening, when I remove my makeup.

How to purchase the correct cleansing products:

Dry skin: A lotion is the most classic form of product for removing makeup and relieve tired or dehydrated skin. It prevents dryness and irritation and gives extra moisture to the skin.

Oily Skin: choose a cleanser with a strong cleaning power; you want to get rid of any excessive oil production that causes acne and pimples to your face.

Gentle and effective cleansing of the eyes: the composition for removing eye makeup and cleansing the eye area must be light and not irritate the eye area, but strong enough to remove every trace of makeup with one move. You must also pay attention not to rub the area under and above the eyes and you must use gentle movements.

Exfoliate: once a week is enough. Exfoliation is essential to remove the dead cells that are on the surface and make our skin dull and rough. There are plenty great exfoliating products to try out there, however, my favourite is a homemade scrub made of sugar and honey; I do it once a week and my skin feels so clean and bright after rinsing it off.

What to choose if you have no time: Choose products that protect the quality of the skin tissue and contain jojoba oil, shea butter and rose extracts, because they are easily rinsed with water and suit even sensitive skin.

What to choose if you are travelling: the wipes are an easy, quick and practical solution for traveling or when time is short for you. If you use them in a space where there is no water, for example, in the car, be sure to bring along a water spray to hydrate the skin after using the wipes.

Micellar Waters: Quite popular at the moment, these products remove and dissolve makeup effectively, attract dirt from face leaving it fresh, clean and hydrated. These products are so easy to use, just apply the water in a cotton pad and swipe all over the face.

What cleansing products are your favourite?

  7. Great tips Hun, Cleaning your face is such an important process to any beauty routine. I always double cleanse at night to make sure I have fully removed all traces of makeup from my face and I am currently loving a cleanser from Alpha H as it is super gentle on the skin.

  11. This is a great post to help people who want to start a skincare routine and want to know which products to choose! Love it! When I had acne-prone/ dry skin I was dependent on a cream cleanser. Now that I'm older I prefer a gel cleanser as I've upped my hyration game and added moisturizer!

I think its important to use proper essential oils depending on skintype too - like tea tree for acne prone skin, and rosehip oil if you want a more evened skintone + hydration!

  14. Micellar water, milk and oil cleansers are heaven sent for my dry skin. I do exfoliate more than once a week but that's because my dry, mature skin needs more exfoliating to keep the dry spots at bay. Great post, Yiota!

  18. I have oily skin and my favourite cleansers are oils or balms - anything harsh just strips my skin and makes it even oilier!
