European Clay Powder Face Mask

As I mentioned many times before, I like using face masks as least twice a week to give my skin extra boost.  My favourite masks are clay masks and I tried plenty of them, my favourite being the European Clay Powder from Now Foods.

This mask is 100% natural with pure ingredients that cleans the skin, draws impurities out and cleanses pores extremely well.

How I use it: I use one tablespoon of the powder mixed with one tablespoon of warm water to create a thin paste and I apply it on my face, avoiding the eye and the lip area.  I usually use a brush to apply it evenly.  I leave it to dry for 10-15 minutes and I remove it with warm water.

For dry skin, it is recommended to use the powder with few drops of jojoba oil or any other oil that you would use on your face, because the powder will dry your skin and if you have dry skin already, it is better to avoid using it only with water.  I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin, this mask is definitely too strong for a sensitive skin type.

Sometimes my skin feels quite uncomfortable when I have the mask on because of the pulling and tingling sensation, but it is bearable.  However, when it dries completely and I remove it, my skin feels amazing. It's the only mask from all that I have ever used that gives me this feeling.  It is like I had a facial and my skin feels amazingly clean, very bright,  super smooth and soft! The feeling is incredible!

I purchased this mask from iHerb for $5 if I can remember correctly and the amount of powder in this can take you a long time, as you only need a tablespoon each time. I am using this mask for three months now and the tube is still full, so I am guessing that I will be using it until the end of 2016.

Overall, I really like this mask and I think that it suits my skin needs so well; I have combination skin, large pores and sometimes my face gets super oily, so clay mask is my rescuer.  Have you ever tried this mask?

  1. Great review and I have seen these type of masks before but never purchase because my skin is dry and dehydrated so I don't think it's suitable for me. Great tips on adding facial oil, I never thought about it!
